Sustainable Upholstery

Where traditional materials meet modern sustainable technology.
Taking the best bits from the traditional materials whilst using it in a modern way, this process is centred around the use of rubberised coir and horsehair as a natural, sustainable alternative to foam, and the use of a modern staple gun over tacks and a hammer.
For me it is about introducing alternatives to a modern audience whose furniture isn't suitable for traditional methods or cannot access them for economic reasons, but have an appreciation for the use of sustainable materials.
The great thing about using traditional materials is that they are almost wholly re-usable or recyclable. Rubberised hair combines fibres with natural latex which is sustainable and a green alternative to synthetic latex and petroleum based foams
