Traditional Upholstery
+
A method dating back to Queen Elizabeth I.
Pieces are handcrafted using hand tools & materials such as horsehair, coir fibre, hessian cloth, jute webbing and cotton felt.
The process involves stuffing and stitching a framework to give strength and structure to the upholstery.
A lot of the detail in this tradition is hidden away under the top fabric, but is an integral part of a chair's make up and is proven to stand the test of time.
